The story of school reform

The school reform was made in 60’s in Finland. There wasn’t any pre-primary education, guidance counsellor, remedial teaching or optional subject   In an old style school. The school reform changed completely  childrens teaching. The school authorities wanted to ensure the same learning platform for whole  Finland ( all over the country ). Prescribed qualifications were required from teachers.

There were certain compulsory subjects in  curriculum. First it was difficult because of miscellaneous grades and incompetent substitutes.


It is a little bit difficult to write taxes, because I seldom use those words even in Finnish.

Tax planning

The Nordic welfare states take care of their inhabitants. That is why we have to pay taxes.

Tax rate is quite high here in Finland, so many company engage in tax planning. Some of them even transfer their money to tax haven, to avoid payment of taxes. When those companies make tax evasion, ordinary people get tax hikes and they must pay more and more taxes, in order to maintain the welfare state. If you can make right and correct your tax return , you can get tax refund and sometimes tax deduction

We had a great trip to Turkey. Although it was rainy weather in Istanbul, we visited Hagia Sophia, called as Aya Sofia. It was a little bit disappointment for us, because half a building was under renovation. Blue Mosque, called as Sultanahmet camii, we saw just outside, because there was so long queue waiting for entry.

Afyonkarahisar offered a lot of experience and the hosts were very friendly. We were taken many kind of places, for example: to one of the local mosque. We visited to marble shop, where we saw very beautiful things made of marble. Now I know that Marble is (marmori) and it is written with r, and maple is (vaahtera) writing with p and without r. The Governor recommended to us by a spa visit in a local fancy spa. After that we go to a restaurant, which was really huge. The next evening we ate dinner at a place, which is the largest restaurant that I have ever visited.

One of the host guided me to the post office and back to hotel. He was a Turkish English interpreter, and his working day was finished, he still helped me.

The weather was so wonderful. The sun was shining and it was so warm like in summer.

I can’t say anything, but it was a fascinating journey.

I’m very pleased you like our presentation. You have so nice pictures about Finland, it was easy to collect those modest presentation. I hope it will do for ( to) our teachers too.

Travel fever begins to rise, while looking at pictures of of Istanbul. I studied the map of Istanbul and I noticed that Hagia Sofia and Grand Bazaar situate very close to our hotel. I wish that I have good luck to visit them. We’ll see it quite soon.

I chose a few video clip for a workshop. They should have been shortened a bit and cut out unnecessary, but I could not do it with Movie maker.

Perhaps I’ll get some good advice next Wednesday.

Hi all
Thanks to all the members of the group, I had leaved already this hobby, but Kerttu and Mirja got me excited  back. It´s difficult write in english, pecause I have writed long time again in english, but only do teaching, but I´ll try to write more active. Nice to see you all again.

Hi all of you. How are you, I am fine.
I have read the bulletin what Bing had send us. There is a lot of useful knowledge of Turkey.
It was also very good  practice in learning English. There were many words which I dit not know.
I am sure that we will have nice time in Turkey.

Last night it had been snowing. Temperature is +3. I am waiting that it should be smelting on the day and I need not go to take it away. Let us see in the ewening  how it is.

Hello all of you

I think that there has been some sort of confucion ouer writing with Anneli and me. It is not my writing. I have had trouble with my iPad. I have written twice, but it it is gone loss.
This morning I was in bodybilding in Kuntokeskus Kanava.I liked it very much. It think that I will continue to visitid that place. Because I can not see very well, there is better to do excersice than on cross-country skiing.
Last week my grandchild visitid us and we had so nice time. We played "Uno" game so many times.
And guess what. I was "Uno" any way. Do you think that it is impossible to win eight yers boy "Uno" spel? Have a nice weekend to You all.
